There are many things that life with Diabetes hasn’t changed, such as:

My passions include painting bodies and canvases, reading, writing (of course), and listening to music.
Swing dancing is my favourite thing in the world to do.
Rainy days, Autumn weather and libraries put me in my happy place.
I only buy movies I am absolutely in love with, I hate driving in silence, I'm starting a brooch collection, and I adore reading poetry, especially Sylvia Plath. I love to write letters. I’m penpals with about a dozen people and I find it to be the most wonderful thing! If I find a song I love, I'll listen to it on repeat for at least a day. You should really try it sometime.
If you want to make me fall deeply and irrevocably in love with you, I would suggest getting me tulips, indoor miniature water fountains, sushi, Reese's Candy, books, CD's, or live animals. All kittens and manner of exotic creatures excluding tarantulas will be accepted.
I enjoy deep conversations and political talks, and the company of those who enjoy them also.
And then the things that have changed:

Life has become a crazy blur of glucose tests, insulin shots, Dr. Appointments, and trying to adjust to living a life with Diabetes, and living that life in a constant stream of changes and new situations. I am learning to take things one day at a time and be thankful for the little things, such as random trips to Zaxby's to get milkshakes and being able to blame all of my bad and/or wacky moods on low Blood Sugar. (Ok, ok, that's totally NOT an acceptable excuse!)
I am inspired to educate as many people as possible about Type 1 Diabetes, all the while seeking to educate myself so that I may live a long and healthy life. Thus, the re-birth of this blog: here is where I share with others my life, which inexplicably means sharing what my life is like with Diabetes. The point of this blog isn't necessarily to showcase my Diabetes, but rather to show you, the reader, that Type 1 Diabetes impacts every little part of my life. All of these posts, in some way or another, include something about my Diabetes - which is just how it's like for me in real life.
It is my hope that this blog provides some insight to readers about not only what life with Type 1 Diabetes is like, but what life in my shoes is like. (Please, though, do not steal my shoes and run off with them!)
All comments and input are appreciated. I do ask that you simply remember to be respectful. And, if you feel compelled to do so, I hope that you will share this blog with others!
